Minutes

Before enrolment, you need to fill in the online application form and then deliver the application form with a photo of the child and the signature of the legal guardians.

The enrolment process includes individual meetings between the kindergarten management and the child's parents. This meeting takes place without the child. The aim of this interview is to clarify whether the educational offer of the school is the same as the parent's demand, i.e. that the parent accepts and is interested in what our school offers, and the suitability of the school's educational programme for the child. For pre-school children, we invite the child to a meeting with the parents, for whom interesting tasks are prepared.

The decision to admit a child to education at VIA Kindergarten is made by the school director after the enrolment is completed, based on established criteria. Priority (regardless of the order of application) is given to children according to the following criteria.

For more information on enrolment for the 2026/27 school year, please visit HERE.

Criteria

The criteria are ranked from the highest score:

  1. Children with a native speaker level of Czech or English.
  2. Children whose sibling is enrolled in a VIA school at the time of enrollment.
  3. Children who do not wear diapers, change clothes with minimal help, are able to follow simple rules, separate from parents and adequately express their needs.
  4. Children from families whose expectations are in line with the kindergarten offer.

The amount of tuition for children entering in September 2026 is set at CZK 190 000 per year for the entire period of attendance at the kindergarten for a full-day program.

Life in kindergarten

Kindergarten is where children learn the most important skills they will need in life. A love of learning, independent thinking, the joy of work, the desire to explore the world, the willingness to help others and the ability to ask for help and resolve conflicts in a respectful way. Our program for preschool children ages 3 to 6 is based on modern pedagogical trends and Czech-English teaching. Our facilities are adapted to the needs of the children and are equipped with quality tools for the development of both Czech and English language. The children are taught by Czech and English teachers in the classrooms.

We care about the place where we live - the children get to know not only the immediate surroundings of the school, but through trips and excursions to Beroun and other regions of the Czech Republic.

Our classes

Our kindergarten will have five classes (departments). There will be a maximum of sixteen children in each class. Two will be reserved for preschoolers whose program will already be geared toward a successful transition to first grade. The other three classes will be age-mixed for younger children.

Our students do not wear formal uniforms. As a way of belonging to the school, they wear polo shirts in the colours of the school logo two days a week (two with the logo are given to them by the school when they start, the others - even without the logo - will be bought by parents). The other three days of the week, children can wear the clothes of their choice.

Yes, the school cafeteria will offer quality lunches and snacks.

The earlier children start kindergarten, the easier it is for them to acquire a second language. The process of learning a second language happens naturally in our kindergarten and usually does not require special care or attention from the teachers. In a cooperative environment where one helps the other, new pupils adapt quickly to our practical approach to learning and soon get used to the methodology.

English is taught by experienced native speakers, and students naturally associate the language with specific people. We see this as very effective for non-violent language development.
The communication language of our pupils has been English since kindergarten, which is represented in the programme more than 1/3 of the time.
The children will be educated in the language as if they were attending an international school, and the development of the Czech language, traditions and culture is of course also emphasized.

There is a maximum of 16 children in the group.

Yes, the teaching in the entire VIA system is designed to align the bilingual curriculum with the Czech Framework Curriculum for preschool education.
